You make a valid point, Shardy00. Touching the pickguard or guitar body is not the same as anchoring. Anchoring does indeed involve the pinky, or even ring and pinky, pressing down on the guitar body with some amount of pressure and remaining fixed to this contact point. As long as the fingers of the picking hand are free to slide lightly over the wood of the instrument, even if they touch the guitar, it's not considered anchoring. And I agree with you, Shardy00.
