Normally paraenthesis indicate a note held over from the last time it was played or a lightly played, almost implied note.

I think that G# is a little of both! Lisa is still holding the G# so it's still ringing. And when she lifts her finger up to play the open G she gets a slight pull-off motion, slightly setting the G string ringing. That second part is very subtle & not that crucial. The most important part is just to hold the G# until you need to play the G.
