new to the site and was working through the intro to Wish you Were Here - is there any reason why two chords EM7 and Asus7 are showing the exact same fingering tab ?? Is that a mistake or are those simply the same chords with differnt names ??

sorry meant A7sus4

Because of the bass note & the chord change implied. Both chords use many of the same notes but the bass note changes, therefore the name of the chord does also.

Notice the lowest note of the Emin7 is E. If you consider all those notes together you get:

e - root 1st

g - minor 3rd

d - minor 7th

(no 5th - b)

Notice the lowest note of the A7sus4 is A. If you consider all those together you get:

a - root 1st

e - 5th

g - minor 7th

d - sus 4th

And if you listen to later parts of the song in which those chords are played you can hear the bass playing an A note & the keys implying that A7 chord.

Hope that helps!
