I agree on the useless tool thing...
This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!
I was curious about your post history, found this
"Just went over to reverb and bought a new 2020 PRS Standard vint"
So based upon the info you provided, you are probably 27ish, spent a wad of cash on a very nice guitar and thought this was going to be easy.
It's not. However, maybe in a few decades you will be at a place were all this makes sense and you can enjoy the guitar and learning.
Took me from 17 to 55 to figure it out, you will too. I still have the guitar I bought when I was 17 btw, so don't sell your guitar.
I might be dead and gone by the time you get to enjoy the guitar so my advice is to relax and best of luck.

On that page you can find a series on major scale patterns, minor scales, altered minor scales, practicing modes across the fretboard, sweep picking, speed playing, jazz guitar, classical guitar, music theory tutorials, visualizing fretboard lessons.
Ben has a huge collection of intermediate to advanced tutorials on scales, arpeggios, intervals, licks, riffs, speed shredding.

Dave has some interesting artist & technique studies.

I think quite often you see the beginner related material featured prominently because there are a lot beginners level players. So, sometimes people miss or don't see all the other instructors that do a variety of material beyond beginner level.

[quote=trevorbell17]the excersises are weak too.
What kind of exercises are looking for? I have some pentatonic exercises that are sequences of 3s that span all 5 boxes & the entire fretboard.

I have a series of tutorials on visualizing the fretboard & playing patterns in various exercises all across the guitar.

Then probably the best route for you is using "actual books and youtube videos." That is inconsistent with what most of us have found. And William MG probably has the explanation of that.
But best of luck in your guitar learning journey.

Many find sarcasm offensive. Then there are others of us that consider it an art form.
@William MG, you have my undying respect.

I find this site great. There is a lot of information and lessons. In fact so much it can get overwhelming but what has worked for me is to find a teacher and stick at it by working through their program. I reckon Chris Schlegel is excellent. Really enjoying the tutorials and explanations thanks Chris. I'm finally starting to piece this whole music thing together after all these years.

100% Bruiser. The value in the site is tremendous. Of the 3 I subscribe to, I use this the most consistently.

Some say sarcasm Is the lowest form of whit. I find it the funniest. Love how Chris just trudges through trying to help regardless. Brilliant stuff.

Christopher, you are the best man! I am pretty sure everyone here will agree to that.

I long for the day that I can be in 100% agreement with OP. Because on that day I will be a great and very accomplished guitar player. [br][br]Until then I suspect GT will have an ample supply of material to challenge me. That said, I find the content and instructors extremely valuable and well worth the subscription fee.
I was seeking for a way to relax more when exercise and don't know why I encouter this post, I want just to thanks Christopher to remind all sections in the site with all lessons instuctors have.

You're welcome!
Most instructions here like almost everywhere are better off to die but there are some gems in here too. You might want to try Danny Gil's tutorials on the site Lick Library. They are no fluff

Pleasure Christopher. You keep this thing running...

Danny Gil misses too much and often squashes 5 beats into 4/4 timing. LL is seriously overrated, in my opinion
I wish this forum had a "block user" feature. Possibly I'm not the only one......
