A new Project In Life

Greetings all, My name Is Mike and I’ve decided at the age of 52 To start playing Guitar I’ve always Loved Music since i was a child and Music has been a great part of my life , unfortunately i never got around to playing the instrument i love the most, the guitar but now I have decided that i will dedicate all my free time to learning I’m not sure how long the beginner’s course should last? But im already at chapter 3 (3 string Melodies section) after 1 week of learning is This Normal progress or is it Slow ? Just curious

Hi Mike and welcome, I am relative new starter as well, starting at 55. My progress is painful, but I keep a regular practice schedule and outline which I stick to.

Any answer is a false premise anyway. It's only ego that wants to be validated by it. You'll progress at your own pace. Best be content with it. The key factor to getting the most out of learning and playing guitar is to to focus upon enjoying it all as you're doing it IME&O.
