This is a great little post with some valuable tips. I totally agree. The way you bring passion and engagement into the things you do can really change your outlook on life.[br]tank trouble[br][br]

My Dad started at 78. Still loving it at 84.

There’s no time like now.

Have fun!

I am now 61 and picked up the guitar again after a 45 year break and loving it! Been with GT since restarting and loving it! I got a bit too much thinking I need to learn more theory which was a mistake and now gradually learning the technique by learning each song on GT in its entirity! Amazing how much theory one learns from just learning songs.

I'm newly retired too and just bought a used electric guitar and amp. I'm a total begginer as well. Tried to learn an accoustic guitar 20 some years ago, but just didn't have the time to devote to it. Now I have the time. Since I grew up in the late 70s and early 80s, I'm looking back at the great rock songs from that era and hoping they can serve as inspiration.

Hi Mark

You're gonna' have a ball here with your new toy.

Which electric and amp do you have?

[br] I bought an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Pro model electric guitar. Looks a lot like your avatar picture. The amp is a Boss Katana 50. I wanted something that I wouldn't outgrow in the next year or two. Played with it over an hour yesterday and my fret fingers are certainly sore to show for it today.[br] [br]Mark
