I am new to this and find it hard to separate my fingers to reach the fretts
Is there anything I can do to help with this
I am slipping my fingers along the string to be able to reach the next frett

Keep trying. It takes time.
Difficult is normal for beginners. The fingers on your fretting hand are trying to do something they've never done before, and learn to do it.
IDK if you've started or where you are with Fundamentals 1 yet, but this short series of tutorials by Caren is worth watching in parallel, as she talks about the left (fretting) hand explaining lots of things things which you'll find relevant to your question and journey.

manXcat is right. It takes a bit of time. I struggled with it as well and still do but have noticed that it does get better and easier. If you get to frustrated just take a bit of a break
