I’m about 3 months into Guitar Tricks lessons and have noticed a habit with my chord shapes forming. Namely, when playing the D and G chord my palm turns away from the fret and a few of my fingers reverse arch and plant straight into the fret board. This happens with my pointer and middle finger on the D chord and with my 3rd finger on the G chord. It’s like I’m unable to generate enough strength with my fingers to press the strings down so a few of my fingers straighten and I use the force generated from my hand itself to push the strings down. Is this a bad habit forming? Something I should break? I can play the chords fine in this manner, but it does take a bit of extra hand motion to plant the chord then straighten the fingers and press down with hand strength. Thoughts or guidance is appreciated!

EDIT: As a quick side note, my thumb generally stays on the back of the neck.
