Hey All,

I have made so far a very good progress with guitar fundamentals but I want to learn eventually blues guitar.

I was wondering since I can dedicate 2 hours + a day just for guitar beside what I am already doing with following my beginner path if there are rifss, in blues style that I can learn and they are easy enough for a beginner to follow up.

I am into music playing in a rock band keyboards and rgan B3, but I love guitar

Thanks

I encourage all students to start learning songs as soon possible. Learning to memorize the chord progression & the form of songs (the order of the sections) is great practice & you'll be building your repertoire of music at the same time.

Have a look at the songs made easy in the GT catalog & find something you enjoy.

And the list of Blues songs sorted by difficulty starting with beginner level.

Hope that helps! Have fun!

These are classics and pretty easy. They were some of the 1st I learned to play and they are all pretty easy, even though only 1 has two "picks".

Baby Please Don't Go - Muddy Waters

Dead easy to learn and everyone likes it. You can't go wrong with anything from Muddy Waters

Boom Boom by John Lee Hooker.

This is a blast to play and one of coolest blues songs out there. And it's pretty quick to learn. A bit harder than Baby Please Don't Go, but still pretty straightforward.

Smokestack Lightning - Howling Wolf

https://www.guitartricks.com/lesson.php?input=18694&s_id=1435

Very cool song to play along to.

Have fun, there are so many cool blues songs out there that are great for beginners.

PS: you mentioned songs in your title which is why I gave you songs. If you want a catalogue of go to licks - Jeff McErlain has a video course available of some of the most common riffs in blues. It is not on this site but on Truefire. Its called "Blues Guitar Fakebook V2". It will give you all kinds of stuff to have in your kit bag of goodies.

This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!

Thanks so much for the info provided, I had no time to go through the site, just sticking on Guitar Fundamentals and I learnt so far Smoke on the Water from Deep Purple, isn't a Blues really but I love that piece of classic Guitar riff and easy to learn.
