In our first lesson, we will break down how to play the main chord progression used in "Living After Midnight." The main technique used is a box style shape that shifts from a series of power chords on the A string to the Low E string, played by why of some syncopated rhythms. This shape is very common and is used in a ton of metal and rock songs. When you listen to the track, you will notice that you will hear the use of major barre chords as well. In the case of this song, either power or full barre chords will work. Once we break down how to play the chords and rhythms used, we will try it with a metronome at the songs tempo to hear the progression without the backing track. This progression is the most recognizable part of the song.
