In this lesson I show you how to play the lick using the first pentatonic box. Essentially, we are using two adjacent strings at a time. So, we start on the top two strings, the E & B strings. After doing the lick using those two strings, move to the next set of strings. Keep moving over to the next set of strings until you've covered the whole pattern and all the strings.

This is something you've probably heard many times in rock, blues and country guitar solos!

Go slow and take your time building up the speed. It can be tricky getting from one set of strings to the next and keep the muting right and your accuracy up to speed. If you are having trouble, then slow down! Get the lick right at a slower speed, then gradually increase your speed.
