This is a lick that has been used in many styles by many players. Although it is used widely in rock I've heard it in country and bluegrass before. I've heard variations of it in jazz also.
But my favorite place to find this awesome lick is in the playing of blues great Johnny Winter. That is the first place I remember learning this particular lick. Johnny really shreds it out on so many blues solos. And this is one of those amazing licks that is really simple once you break it down so you can understand it. But once you can get it up to Winter's speed it really makes for an impressive lick.
I find it quite easy (so far!) to navigate, and found the "where do I start" to be very helpful! I'm getting there!!
I LOVE the forum, too. I've never been one to use forums, but the GT forum is full of great people and helpful information at ALL levels! Congrats on a WONDERFUL site!!Good job!
