Many people think having a fierce pick hand refers to only single note lead playing. Your pick hand is limited only by what you think you can do. Here we'll apply rhythm and speed techniques to strumming technique.

First, realize that it just numbers. If you can count it, you can play it. Count with me, especially on some of the faster strums and you'll get a grip on the technique more quickly.

Next, stay loose. I use my entire body to strum. My arm is like a whip - not stiff at all, and loose until the point the pick hits the strings.

Finally, I use a thin pick to achieve this technique. I've done it in years past with heavy and medium picks but recently I've found I'm getting the desired results with a thin pick (the thinnest I can find, actually). Combining these numbered strums has limitless possibility so fire up the backing track and have fun with it.
