In this lesson we'll take the 6 Note Thump and transfer the same technique to fingertapping. Here you'll see how you can take the same technique and apply it to single note lead playing. It's not that far of a stretch and practicing both techniques improve each other.

This technique takes our percussive approach (rhythm) and implies melody with the E Minor Pentatonic scale. Harmony is stretched here in what I'm calling the "small box". That's a combination of E Minor, E Dorian, and the E Blues Scale. "Big Box" and "Small Box" are simply names for shapes I use that combine these elements.

Give it a try with other scales and shapes and watch what happens.
