This lesson is going to cover the progression from the intro through the verse and into the chorus. It's important to note that the intro also doubles as the turnaround after the chorus and guitar solo.

These sections are comprised of the chords G, Cadd9, D and Dsus. The strumming for each section is important to the overall feel of the song and helps push it along while still retaining the relaxed, ballad feel. You can't deny that the chorus of this song will get stuck in your head!

This chorus is extremely well crafted in terms of both melody and lyrics. It's also a great exercise in simplicity and how effective a few simple chords and a great melody can be in creating a memorable hook.
