The tune starts with a haunting bare bones intro featuring 2 distinct guitar parts and a heavily effected piano. You're going to want to dial up a clean sound with just a hint of breakup on it, and add some reverb to add some thickness.

The first guitar part is just strumming the chorus chords, starting with the open strings of your dropped C guitar to play that C chord. The next chord is a b3 interval up, and it is an interesting chord that you'll hear in many modern dropped C or D type modern heavy rock/metal songs: the Ebsus2. The next chord is a major third up to the b6 chord; Ab5. Then it pulls the classic end to the progression by going to the 4 chord and the 5 chord. Watch the rhythm on this as you go to the 5 on the and of 2.

The second guitar part uses the same tone. It's a repeated melodic motif that utilizes octaves. You're starting on the b3 (Eb) in 8th position and foreshadowing the chorus vocal melody that is to come.
