Next we're going to take a look at the guitar parts heard in our verses. There are two verses in this track, both of which feature the same two guitar parts we heard in our intro as well another heavier guitar played throughout. Here are some key points to aid you through the verse guitar parts in "Word Up":

1. Guitar 1 is the distorted guitar that we hear throughout the entire song, played with a 7 string. In the verses, this guitar is playing muted power chords on the drop-A string, playing F#5, E5, to D5.

2. Guitar 2 plays the same upbeat part as the intro, playing inversions of our three chords. This guitar also plays higher notes on the high E string from time to time, and you can add these in if you want as well.

3. Guitar 3 plays plays the same melody as we heard in our intro, steering clear of the vocals with a flange, distorted guitar tone.
