The pre-chorus section of "Come As You Are" is an easy two chord progression that plays some cool variations on some familiar chords. Here are some key points to help through this section.

1. The chords for this section are simply F#sus4 and an A major chord.

2. To play the F#sus4 you want to make sure to skip the A string, and focus on the Bsus2 triad on the top strings. You will transition from this chord to the A chord each time by playing the open D and G strings.

3. The A chord is simply played as an open A power chord, and you want to make sure to focus on the up beat.

4. You enter into this section every time the same way by playing your open B and E strings on the downbeat of "4", coming out of the main riff.

5. We are using the same guitar tone as our main riff, using the chorus pedal with a clean tone, keeping our pickup switch in the neck position.

6. To come out of this section, you enter in with the main riff on the downbeat of "4" of each chorus when returning to the main riff. When transitioning into the chorus, you keep building on the A playing eighth notes.

7. After the guitar solo this section is played the same but doubled with a heavier distorted guitar to make it sound huge with the rhythm section.
