The guitar solo in "Come As You Are" is a simple melody that plays the verse vocal lines on the guitar. Our tone is nice and washy with our chorus pedal, and lots of distortion is a must. Here are some key points to help you play this simple solo that sounds really cool.

1. The solo is essentially the same as the vocal melody that you hear during the verses. That vocal line sings the name of the song at the beginning.

2. The same melody is played four times, building into the last chorus. The notes being played are C#, E to F# emulating the vocals.

3. At the end of each phrase (every 4 bars), you will bend the F# up a whole step and play the B on the 12th fret of the B string as well. You want to make sure and play this clean but also add your own touch to it to really sound like a vocalist.

4. The rhythm guitar behind the solo is playing out main riff with the clean, chorused tone from our first lesson as well as being doubled by our distorted guitar.
