Before we start learning the parts, let's dial in the right tone for this early Nirvana classic.

We'll be needing two tones, one being a solid clean tone that is on the verge of breaking up. I've got the treble set to 6, the mids are at 5, and the bass is set to about 7. I'm playing a Fender Telecaster on the bridge position pickup.

For the distorted tone we want to dial in a really chunky Marshall type of tone. It's really fat sounding and has quite a bit of distortion, you wanna make sure that the distorted sound is really warm and not too shrill. Start with the EQ set to about the same as the clean tone, and maybe roll off some of the high end if you need.

Start with these settings and compare the sounds, depending on what gear you're using you may have to tweak the settings a bit.
