GUITAR: Any guitar with a humbucking pickup in the bridge position will be ideal here. The humbucker gives you plenty of clarity and power for semi-clean and distorted tones.

AMP: A Marshall tube style amplifier is the perfect choice for this tune. For the clean sounds, a touch of distortion/grit will add some nice punch and sustain for the notes. Crank up the preamp gain for the distorted sections, or kick in an overdrive/distortion pedal to chunk out those power chords. For the lead tones, you'll want a touch more gain for thick sustain as well as adding some echo for some depth. Check out the settings I used for this tutorial:
