Description
THE FOGGY DEW
T'was (Dm) down the glen one (C)Easter (Am)morn
To a (Dm)city (Am)fair rode (Dm)I
When an (Dm)armed line of (C)marching (Am)men
In (Dm)squadrons (Am)passed me (Dm)by
No (F)pipes did hum, no (Dm)battle drum
Did sound its (Am)loud tat(Dm)...too
But the (Dm)Angelus Bells over the (C)Liffey (Am)swells
Rang (Dm)out in the (Am)foggy (Dm)dew
The bravest fell and the solemn bell
Rang mournfully and clear
For those who died that morningtide in the
Springing of the year
While the world did gaze with deep amaze
At those fearless men but few
Who bore the fight that freedom's light
Might shine through the foggy dew
And back through the glen - I rode again
