In this lesson we'll learn the fills in the 3rd and 4th chorus, verse, and outro.

In the chorus fills we wait until beat two of measure 4 and play diatonic 3rds in double stops right up the F major scale to the C chord. I would keep the slide on and hold it out of the way to play all these with my 1st and 2nd fingers, spreading and contracting them to play major-minor-minor-major-major-minor-minor.

The fill in measure 3 of the verse should move from the F at fret 13 down to 10th position. The fill in measure 7 is all on the first string. When playing it feels like there should be an E note at the end of this line, but it was either omitted or mixed out to avoid interfering with the vocals.

In the outro we just approach the root of the tonic chord from a whole step above, and then in measure 3 walk down the scale in the same dotted quarter note rhythm that the rest of the band will use in measure 4.
