We have two verses in our song, both featuring the same two guitar parts. First, we are going to learn the melody that is played by Guitar #1 throughout both verses. This melody is similar to the one at the top of our song.

Guitar #1 during our verses plays a simple melody again, using our diad shapes over the G and A chords and some slides. This progression is 12 bars long and is the following chord:

D G - A - D G - A - D G - A - G - A - D G - A - D G - A Asus4

You will crescendo each time you get to the A chord using the upper voicing, and you want to watch out for the chord change that happens after three times through the progression. At that point you will do some chord slides, and then back to our main part. Also make sure to catch the Asus4 at the end of the verse that helps crescendo into the chorus.

Guitar #1 plays the same part for both verses.
