Now we're ready for the first verse of our song. The guitar plays an important role during this section, playing biting licks in between the vocals phrases. Our tone is really highlighted here, and the interplay between the guitar and vocal is a huge part of what makes this song great.

Carrying over from our intro, our guitar part starts with the ringing of our low D and A strings. We will then play our first lick on beat 4 of the second measure, starting with a two eighth note melody really hammering on the lower string.

Our next lick comes in on the & of three of the fourth measure, playing C and F# with a slight bluesy bend. You will then follow this with a quick slide to the E and B strings.

Our third and final lick is a double stop using G and C, bending the G up to A and then resolving to F on the B string with the C still ringing. This comes in on the & of three of the sixth measure, with the F ringing all the way until the & of 1 on the last measure. At that point you will play our low F note on the D string.

And those are the guitar licks you will play during the first verse.
