Guitar #1 is the main guitar in our verses, playing the same chord progression that we played in our intro. The parts are essentially the same, with the only difference being how the verses end. We will kick on a rotary effect over the last two bars that will lead us into the choruses. Both verses are played the same.

The chord progression for the verses is:

|| Emi7(b5) - C7 - Emi7(b5) - C7 - Emi7(b5) - C7 - Emi7(b5) - C7 ||

You will essentially play the chords the same way as you did in the intro, but once the last two bars kick in you will turn on your rotary effect. This creates a nice building into the chorus, and once the last C7 comes around you will really want to emphasize the open E string and add some extra rhythm to help in the building.

Once the downbeat of four comes in before the first and second chorus, you will kick on your distortion and play nice and loud. We will look at that in our chorus lesson.
