This technique is one of my favorites on electric guitar, because it can really bridge the gap between rhythm and lead sounds, and it almost makes your guitar sound like a piano. You can get super percussive with it and it's a ton of fun once you get it down. Of course it's a tricky thing to pull off, but as always I maintain that it's completely worth the hard work.
