Description
In this song tutorial we'll be learning the song "2000 Pound Bee", as made famous by the surf band The Ventures.
There are lots of really cool and interesting things with this song! First off, it's fully instrumental and the main riff is based on one of the first fuzz tones ever heard on guitar.
Another thing that is a bit odd with this song is that there are two parts, part 1 and 2 and it's really kind of like two songs based on the same idea.
All in all the song has three guitar parts. There's the fuzzed out lead guitar, playing single string leads. Then there's a clean guitar playing some really cool rhythm parts and chords. And of course, in true surf fashion, a reverb drenched solo guitar played with a nice clean tone.
We'll also be looking into some right hand techniques so that we can really get the right surf feel for the guitar parts.
