Description
Mike will show you the 3 electric guitar layers. Guitar 1 uses a light crunch tone to play some steady rhythm guitar throughout. Guitar 2 uses a beefier tone for the melodies and leads, and Guitar 3 uses that same tone to play a harmonization of the intro melody.
The song kicks off with a driving groove and simple chord progression played throughout the tune. Guitar 1 digs into a steady and consistent rhythm part using octaves. Guitars 2 and 3 enter at the intro as well with an iconic harmonized melody that becomes the vocal line.
The chorus is anthemic with some bombastic riffing from Guitar 1, and a lengthy guitar solo from Guitar 2 builds the intensity even further.
In the following lessons, we’ll talk about octaves, syncopated strumming, dynamics, guitar harmonies and some killer rock licks. We are in the key of D major, with a 4/4 time signature, at a tempo of 128 BPM.
