I want to know if this sounds anything like sweeping. I'm pretty sure I'm getting the technique down. I couldn't even do this much two days ago but something clicked and now I think all I got to do is clean 'em up a little. They aren't anything special I need to find some other shapes but these are the ones that I can do.

------10---------------10
---11----11---------11---
12----------12---12------
---------------13---------
--------------------------
---------------------------

Simple but I throw in a six string one.

---15-----------------------------------------
------16-14-13-------------------------------
-----------------14---------------------------
--------------------16------------------------
------------------------17--------------------

Here's the Vid.

Yup, that's how the technique is executed, but those arpeggios aren't to commonly used, more commonly used arpeggio shapes are here: http://www.insaneguitar.com/mc/sweeping.html

This is a good article for starting, good luck, I myself I'm not the best sweeper, but I do some of it in my own stuff.

Sweet that should keep me busy for a few weeks. Once I get 'em cleaned up and put some backing music together I'll throw some refined stuff up. This was just to make sure I had the idea down.

That's sweep picking alright;-) There are a lot of different ways to sweep the same series of notes. I just posted an exercise in the technique forum that has helped me to become more fluent at sweeping:

I know what you mean about it clicking all of a sudden. The penny dropped for me while I was listening to Jason Becker and imagining how he did it (I already failed at getting it from tab). It gets easier every day and in about 6 months or so you will be able to string together massive sections of aprs. Some guys don't like em, but I'm an arpeggio freak:-)

When im sweep picking I sometimes double pick the note when im changing directions;meaning if I go from 8 to 11 on the E string, instead of hammering-on I will double pick the 11th so first pick direction would be an upstroke then down stroke that would get me ready for the up-stroke for coming back up the strings ex:

E ----------------^8---V11^---V8----------
B ------------^9-------------------V9-------
G -------^10--------------------------v10----

If you watch sweep-picking carefuly you will see this being done, its a very small movement but its a common sweep picking technique
Akira says;
"i was expecting some 3476 string string skipping with some 23489172343 octave sweeps and some alt picking runs at 345734237623572bpm in 234872364781246164516th notes across your 2384723648724627348623478264 fret guitar"
