I currently have a 16 watt Kustom amp and a Fender Fat Strat with a FR, what would I need to add to this to get close to the SRV sound?

Ok, Srv's actual setup was something along the lines of: Beat up strat(#1) >Vox wah>Ibanez ts808 tubescreamer> ts808> to maybe a unvibe or somethin> to either a Fender Super Reverb, Vibroverb, or Bassman, or an old marshall (maybe).

But for you, you could some amp/effect modeling stuff. or you could buy an ibanez ts808 tubescreamer. It has a very bluesy, srv like feel to it.
I am Comfortably Numb... :D

Oh yeah...STICK IT TO THE MAN!

A TS808 is going to be around 150-200 USD... and unless you reallllllllly want one or reaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllly need one... Don't spend the money on it. Go for a TS9. It's a new version of the TS808 and it's more cost effective. The TS808 is more of a collectors item in most cases. People like to buy them because they're the original... If you're on a budget the TS9 goes just as far for less...

Stevie's tone came from hot wound single coil pickups and heavy gauge strings as well... That was where a lot of his tone came from... With humbuckers, it's going to be hard to get that biting single coil tone that he got from his '62 strat.

The most basic setup to mimic his tone would be a single coil strat with texas specials, a tube amp, and a tubescreamer (ts808/ts9) or other overdrive pedal..... That would be the most basic setup. It would take some tweaking to get it perfect either way.
