Mike,

Really been enjoying your vids, great job, please keep up the good work you do. Hopefully you will be doing some more Chevelle ... love their stuff and their unique sound.

I all your vids you are playing a hollow body, Les Paul style guitar. What type of guitar is that?

Hey gerriorc!! Thanks for digging the lessons!

My guitar is made by ESP and it's called an XTone. Yes, it is half-hollowbody, but the tone is very much like a Les Paul. I love it because it plays great and has a nice rich tone to it.

Keep rocking!!

I'm a big fan of the holly bodies. I have a Gibson ES 347, and can get some amazing sounds from it. Really digging your guitar, never heard of ESP before, need to look into it.

Again, keep up the good work you do, McLove'in the stuff you put out, Personal Jesus was just awesome.

Hi Mike. I think I found a place here in Canada that carries ESP. What finish is yours?

Thanks
Michael

Thanks Mike! I fell in love with it first time I saw/heard it in your Barracuda tutorial. :)

I got mine in the mail yesterday from L.A. Music in Toronto. I had to get it in brown walnut but it's still beautiful and sounds amazing.

Are those stock p'ups? Also, any secrets for keeping it tune after you bust that Bigsby? Any time I barely touch mine it goes way out of tune. You do great work and really love how you seem to enjoy the lessons. Thanks.

They are the stock Seymour Duncan pickups. And yeah, I also struggle with keeping that Bigsby in tune. Try putting a little bit of graphite from a pencil into the nut slots under the string. This allows the string to slide back and forth while the Bigsby is getting used without the string catching or getting caught. This seems to help a bit, but honestly I haven't found a surefire way to keep that thing completely in tune. Keep your tuner handy, and tune up in between songs or whenever you get the chance!!
