For the Iron Maiden sound, I would recommend a Marshall style amp. They've used Marshall for almost their entire career.

The new Marshalls have plenty of gain to get that thick distorted sound. If you choose an older Marshall, you may have to put a distortion pedal in front to get the amount of distortion required for those killer riffs and leads.
