Hello Mike, I have a question regarding "The Red"'s tuning. I know how to tune down to C# standard, the problem I have is in making it sound good. How do you do that? The lowest I've gone that still produced a well-sounding guitar was Drop C#. Anything below that sounds muddy and awful, and that includes D standard. How did you make your guitar sound good, despite the low tuning? Was it a specific range of gauged strings or what did you do to make it sound well?

Hey man! Great question:

Have you tried restringing your guitar with thicker strings? For the low tuned tutorials i will use around 52-13s. They sound much tighter than trying to detune with regular strings.

Also, as far as amp settings go, try reducing the pre-amp gain, as well as the low eq. I find that even just a little less of each really helps to tighten things up.

Lemme know if any of this helps, and keep rocking!

Thanks, I will try that. I didn't think you were using a baritone guitar, so I just wanted to know. I use regular slinky's, which might abet the muddy tones.

Thanks a bunch!
