Description

This song features both clean and crunch electric guitars. I’m playing a SuperStrat style guitar. For the clean parts, I’m using the neck pickup for a round, warm tone. For the leads, I’m switching to the bridge pickup for clear, powerful tone. That said, this song can still be played with any electric guitar.

A Marshall style tube amp is the best choice to replicate the tones in this tune. Dial in a clean setting - set the Preamp Gain to 30%, Bass to 75%, Mids and Treble to 60%, and the Presence to around 50%.

Since we’ve got a few parts that are played completely clean, I suggest setting up the amp that way. Then for the lead guitar parts, kick in an overdrive or distortion pedal. If your amp has channel switching, then simply set up one channel for clean, and another for lead, and switch between them.

GTR 1 also uses a chorus effect for a wider sound. Add reverb to all guitars for depth.
Since we’re in standard tuning, I’m using 10-46 string gauge. I’m also using a heavy pick to dig into these strums and riffs.
