Description

A 12 string acoustic guitar was used on this recording, but any acoustic guitar can be used to play this song. In fact, I’m using a 6 string acoustic with an additional 12 string pitch effect to get closer to the vibe of the recording.

As for the electric, I’m using a Telecaster for this song, but any electric guitar is suitable. I’ve selected the bridge picking for a brighter tone that resembles the pedal steel.

A Fender tube amp is the best choice to replicate the electric tone heard in this tune. Dial in for clean just on the edge of breakup - for example, set the Preamp Gain to 35%, Bass to 45%, Mids to 55%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 65%.

Add some reverb to all guitars for depth.

I’m using regular light gauge strings that are 10-46 along with a heavy pick to dig right in. As for the acoustic, I’m using a medium pick along with 11-52 string gauge.
