From the angle in that pic it looks too high. And I'm guessing truss rod because the bridge looks pretty good. You can check for yourself if you look down the length of the guitar from the headstock down to the bridge. Here are some examples I found on the web of necks that need adjustment.

The problem I'm suggesting is the concave image resulting in too high action (also called "forward bow").

I think each individual should decide for her or himself! It's a fairly straight forward mechanical process. But if it makes you nervous that you might mess up your guitar & you can afford to take it to a pro, then there's nothing wrong with that.

Like many things, you'll never know until you try. And more, like most things the only thing that makes you good at it is the exerience of repeatedly doing it. :)

[quote=tammielyn.ts]I just checked out your video on it, both electric and acoustic, but i found the camera angel not being up close hard to understand what i would do, and also it didn't show how to take string off of the tuning pegs

You just unwind the string & pull it out of the tuner hole. The only thing keeping it in the tuner is the tension & the windings. Once you release the tension & pull the bridge pin it's just barely held in there by the slight bend in the end of the string & the loose windings from when it was taunt.

[quote=tammielyn.ts]... and i couldn't see clearly how to put the string in or twist it, bc the camera wasn't close up.

It's essentially the same process as in the earlier electric guitar video.

And if that's not close up enough you might find some good stuff on Bobby's videos or YouTube. For example, one of Bobby's videos has an explanation of putting the string in a tuner post using a sewing thread spool for demo purpose!

Hope that helps!

And to add to this, if you put the new string in the bridge, make sure the round end of the string isn't under the pin, if you put the pin in, pull strong on the string and the pin shouldn't move, if it does then it 's not good and if you go ahead any way then with tuning the guitar the pin will come out with considerable force.

Absolutely. I too started about a year ago (10/25/19). I too bought a Taylor...love it...

In February, I bought 5 different strings and decided part of the learning process was going to be changing my strings once per month, learn to record them after playing on them for a week and then after 5-6 months, I could listen back and see which I liked. The first couple times I rewatched the video (see link below). I don't use power winders, it is no big deal.

I probably spent $40-45 with a range of strings.

The strings all sounded and felt different. But after a week, I often got used to whatever I was playing. Mostly what I learned was how to change strings! and how to record. It was also a cool way to see progress in my learning.

Bottom line -- you can totally change strings yourself. Here is the link on the Taylor site.

Good luck!

Actually, great you asked. Today I got my guitar back, my uncle who is a musician fixed the problem The action was too high he agreeed with me and all of you. The problem was in the neck. He had to straighten it, something was off there, and he changed the strings for me and voila! The action is perfect for me, and i am so happy to have those Elixir strings off for good. He did not like them either., oh and he carefully examined everything and down the neck on each string at every fret, on the 13th fret the strings were 'krinkled' So i'm happy it's all in good working order, but very disappointed in Long and McQuadde here where i live., but all is good, thank you all for your help!

TammieLyn

great result.

Glad it's all worked out.

Next time, go straight to the uncle.
