Description
There are five bars during the guitar solo. We play the first three bars just like the chorus, A/D E7/A, And then we modulate up a minor third. On the fourth and fifth bars, we play a "C" cord. This leads into the next section. Modulation is changing from one key or tonic to another. This helps to provide variety and drama while reducing the boredom of repeating the same thing. Modulating to this key is an interesting choice because it allows us to continue using open chords.
