Description

The Right Hand Roll is not a fingerpicking pattern per se, but is a right hand technique that can add a slightly harp-like effect to notes that might otherwise be played as a "pinch".

With a "pinch", you play two or more strings at the same time, using 2 or more fingers. All the notes sound at the same time.

With a "roll", you play those same strings, with the same fingers, but you play them in slight succession, low to high, starting with the thumb. The notes roll by quickly, one to the next.
